Hello!

The company I work for always marketed its website at companyname.com
but recently, we decided to start marketing productname.com instead
while still keeping companyname.com going as we cannot afford too much
disruption to the website. So we registered productname.com and
configured the web server to do a permanent redirect (HTTP 301) to
companyname.com then started using productname.com on company literature
etc.

Recently we have been slipping down the rankings and there is some
concern that this other domain is responsible. Is this possible? Have we
messed up here?
Your web presence is still companyname.com, yeah? The recent 301 from
productname.com won't be an issue then, I'd say it's something else
making you slide.
