Default Best place to learn about SEO? - 07-04-2005 , 11:03 AM

Where's the best place to learn about SEO? I currently have a site at PR3
that's nowhere in the top 1,000 results for the keyword I want. We get
about 600 unique visits a month, but I am sure we have the potential for
more.

The site in question is http://www.t-h-e-store.com/. The HTML is valid, and
I've arranged the code so that the content (middle) column is written first.

I understand that the home page should have conent that changes every so
often, correct?

Hi,

I always find that the best way to learn something in a technical
nature is having something to do. And you have that, you have a site
doing okay, you have the best resource inthe world (the internet) and
you have a reason to enhance your skills (To make your site better).
Give yourself an aim and them read up on the subject (Theres plenty of
pdf books you can source for free if you look hard enough) theres the
search engines themselves (Enter your keyword and ask yourself WHY
they are above you, what have the top 5 got in common?) And ask
specific questions on the newsgroups here and of course on the various
SEO sites.

Hope this helps

No.
You said "Where's the best place to learn about SEO? "

Anyway. What are your keywords ?
I have looked at the homepage and so far the top 3 single words are :
organic 5.93%
natural 2.22%
Store 4.07%

And as for 2 or 3 word phrases, then forget it, none are optimized.

Check here :http://www.ranks.nl/tools/spider.html

You are also missing <meta name="Description" content=" "> which
spiders use.

Seriously, where is this coming from? We're getting asked this a lot
lately and until recently it just wasn't an issue.

Awwwwww thats nice, you have been accepted!. Ive only been around
this newsgroup for a few posts as you can see but find the attitude of
"Big Bill" and his fictional Mate? John???? Quite bizarre. I really
thought people like you died out when usenet got a gui

Usenet is great, as a public forum people are allowed to ask whatever
question they want as long as its relevent to the group. If you dont
want to answer in a respectful manner of feel the question really is
beneath you, then its just as easy not to answer at all and let
someone who can give some useful advice do so instead
