You pay for expertise and experience - if theyre as good as they say then THEY should be no1 for "search engine optimisation" in google shouldnt they? |
|
The answer to your question is anyone can do it - but do you have the time to learn all there is to know and to undertake the work? |

Minor flaw in your logic. Google is based around link popularity and so the argument if a SEO can get their site to number 1 for the above SERP they must be good at SEO isn't necessarily true, it may be they are very good (or lucky) at link popularity (which is a very important part of SEO) but rubbish at the rest. Then you have to look at where they get their links from, will they be able to do the same for a clients site and if not what will that mean for a clients site? You'll find those at the top of the SEO related SERPs tend to be there because they get their clients to link to their SEO site. Not something I'd do (discussed here previously, so won't go into it again), but will they also do this for a clients site? Will they get all their other clients to link to you? Highly unlikely and sounds a bit like a link farm! So if a SEO site gets it's SERPs due to using it's clients as a link source they are not going to be able to do the same for your site. So when looking for a potential SEO via SEO SERPs try to weed out those that use their clients sites for links. Otherwise it's not the worst way to find a SEO consultant. BTW my NTL page at http://homepage.ntlworld.com/ooar123.../seo-help.html is number 2 in UK Google for the search SEO. |
