I've just done a redirect 301 on a page that has a PR3 but when I get redirected the new page has a PR0 why is this? I thought the PR was carried over by google on a 301 or does it have to spider or something first? |

I'm taking about an .htaccess redirect not a javascript or the like. It is googles recommended method. "Tim Arnold" <vgo_2000 (AT) yahoo (DOT) com> wrote in message news:2c80a852.0401101011.5049954 (AT) posting (DOT) google.com... What do you think about this? Here is the redirect http://automobileinsurance.insurance...nsurance-quote Here the actual page: http://216.239.41.104/search?sourcei...rance-quote%2F I can do this but thought it was a no-no. This guys ranks high for lots of insurance searches. Based on the rambling sentence on the cached version its obvious it was made using automated software. "Noël" <n03l (AT) REMOVE-hotmail (DOT) com> skrev i en meddelelse news:btrshc$1ot$1 (AT) news (DOT) cistron.nl... Martin, how did you decode that? I didn't decode it (too much work). I just changed, result=result+String.fromCharCode(arrayofstring[i]-9); into result=result+String.fromCharCode(arrayofstring[i]-9)+" "; (that is: I added +" " near the end). |

Thanks alot for taking the time to check this. Is it cloaking if both the cached page and the page delivered are relevant to the search? Or only when their is obvious deception? Such as search for onething and delivered another. I have spent lots of time trying to be somewhat "clean" in my SEO efforts and then drop out of the ranks and then this guy dominates thru redirects and cloaking. Tim |
