This question has come up couple days back in alt.www.webmaster

We have that thread archived here:

Check it out. I think there is no need to duplicate the effort.

That site is unbelievably hard work. The post is somewhat
disengeneous too, since the posts are archived by google, and that is a
far better place to view it...

The link will wrap:-

Also, your sig. seperater needs some attention, along with the
amount of content contained within the sig...

HTH :-)

Hi Will. Thanks for the feedback. Every site needs work, lots of it. So,
any feedback is appreciated. I take it as you had problems using my site.
Do you mind elaborating on that?

Disengeneous? Google's 'define' feature fails on that one:

*My* links don't wrap ;-)

HTH :-)
I've tried a few separators in the past. What do *you* think will do best?

I have had some success with putting <> around the link, this will often
protect it from being wrapped.

Or you can use tinyurl.com and never have that problem again

I already gave you the solution a long time ago, but you never reacted
to it.

The standard separator, recognised by all news readers that recognise
separators, is: two hyphens, a space and a line break. What is lacking
in your case is the space.

Some noncompliant news readers - such as older versions of Outlook
Express - remove the space before sending, leaving the separator
non-standard. However, this is an error that has been corrected in the
past.

This should be an easy problem for you to solve.
Oh, hey Mikkel,

I do remember you suggesting a solution, and I *did* act on that right
away. The problem was - that space before the line break eluded me. We'll
I've added it now, we'll see if it works.

Yep, that did it!

It is still bad netiquette that you post two sigs with each post.

In the groups where I participate it is generally accepted to use a
signature of 4 lines max. (excluding the -- ). Yours occupies 15 lines.

However, your bad behaviour is a little less annoying now that my
newsreader fades out the part of your posts that is "spamming", and cuts
it off automatically when replying :-) Wish it could do something
similar to Bill's quotes too...
