I don't understand this at all. When I type in link:www.mydomain.com in google, my main page and just a few of the sub categories show up (by the way, it just shows one level down and no further). Not one link from anyplace other than my own page shows up. Now when I ask google to show me all pages containing mydomain.com, a bunch of pages show up mostly from sites where I submitted my url (like business listings, genealogy sites, etc.). What's the purpose of using the "link" command. Is that just to show the pages that were submitted by myself? Is it supposed to show everybody else's' site that has a link to my domain? Any clarification on what this 'link' command does would be helpful. |

Currently the random sampling will mostly consist of PR3 and lower pages containing a link your way - a few PR4 may be shared but not many. Doing a search on your domain name itself will show pages that contain that term - so not limited to links. [This is not taking into consideration how some links are shared that don't count as backlinks - due to being shared through a script or something]. Doing link: on Yahoo will give you a better idea of # of backlinks you have - although even that may not be the whole 10 yards of links you may have, it will be a better idea than what Google shares.
