I think books are Zero rated in the UK
- subtly different from exempt
- we had to convince the VAT office that the CD that went with our
Directory (book) was of pretty much zero value

Are they? My printer reckons they aren't and so I don't get charged VAT
when he prints them.

However, assuming you are right:

Interesting - when is a software manual a book (0% VAT)and when a piece
of software at 17.5%?

Maybe I should call it a "guide" and it is a book?

I believe the answer is "when it comes with a CD" (sad but true)

There is only one war, and it's not the rich against the poor,
the blacks against the whites, the Federation against the Borg,
or the Democrats versus the Republicans. It's those of us who
aren't complete idiots against those of us who are.
