I don't know if it's a dance, but something is up.

I have just 2 backlinks at my lingerie site www.adultlingerieuk.com

Yes two, down from over 200!

Also I'm seeing PR changes on deep content pages, so it could be an
early dance.

My main SERPs are OK right now, some even improved since yesterday
(mostly the SEO site).

The backlinks drop is interesting, anyone else seeing the same?

My mistake was I should have made a money bet with you. hmm, why don't
you check www2 and www3 both my serps first 3 pages and your serps first
2 pages. There's a surprise awaiting you at both and there'll be an even
bigger surprise for you as soon as google updates to the latest version
of my lingerie page.

I've also had back links drop that I've had for years. The PR was 6 on
my main web design site but that has dropped to 5 with a lot of back
links disappearing.

The weird thing is 2 or 3 days ago most of my sites jumped from PR3/4 to
PR5 and these sites are still back linked. I must admit I was shocked
that most of my back links had the PR raised and then saw the PR of my
main site drop.

The only other thing I did last week was reduced the amount of text on
my main web design site. I've now put all the text back on and I'm
waiting to see if it changes anything.

Yes Dave..

I posted about it a week ago and nobody responded.. sometimes us
newbies do spot a thing or two, if you took the time to read and spent
less time fighting your macho battles with other SEO's that readers
have to wade through then you may have checked it out..

I noticed 700 backlinks down on one of my sites.

Compared the back links that Alexa was listing and the back links that
Google was listing and noticed the differences immediately...

Someone has suggested that it may have something to do with PR but I
have back links from sites that have PR4+ that simply aren't listed.

However what I don't undertsand is that on one of my sites that is
doing really well through all of this mostly has backlinks from very
low PR. Those sites are are not however listed. 80% of the links are
Internal.

Google is probably load balancing between machines that are in different

and location because if I do a search from my own machine www.google.com and
then repeat the exact same search from http://googledance.seochat.com/ I get
different results.

That's because results are coming from google's 9 different databses to
the main one www.
It's something that normally happens even when there is no dance going
on but it happens like crazy when the dance is going on. If you really
want to see the newest results of the dance use their main second
database www2.google.com as those results will probably wind up going to
the main database www.

snicker snicker.. I've been following too...

oops, do we loose a page 1 listing? well in all fairness slipping from
page 1 to page 2 isn't too bad especially for a single keyword search.
Still an impressive result.

But what ever happened to ladies lingerie? Or womens lingerie? or even
women's lingerie......... or weren't they included in the were doing
just fine list? Have they all slipped to page two as well?

Now where is that list .... I have tried running a search for it you
know the ones you were listed on page 1 with? But hey you know google
results don't always reveal what we are trying to find...

Could you possibly post them again Dave..

Thanks.

I've lost all my backlinks now, should I panic Sam?

Not yet, since my SERPs are holding steady and traffic has been
breaching the 7000 unique visitors a day mark since the 1st of this
month.

I don't see your page in the Lingerie SERP yet, should I still be
holding my breath? I'm going a very strange purple colour and my
fingers are numb.

You need to panic big time since your site has dropped to page 2 on www2
and www3 as the new algo is dealing differently with internal page
linking structure. That's why you lost your back links. My back links
went from 79 to 114 the past day on my main site, and on my second main
site went from 74 to 100. You were able to get away with your linking
structure before 11/16 but will not any longer. The Florida algo has
finally caught up with you. The reason you didn't drop right off is
because your site is relevant in content and site title but your links
are not and links take a few weeks or so before google rewards you with
them or penalizes you with them. You were rewarded for page title and
content so your site stayed in its serps while everyone else dropped but
you are now being penalized for having irrelevant linking structure to
your site. You will eventually over the next few weeks lose all your
links and all your pr and drop to nothing unless you fix it real quick.
you design your site in mind for the viewer like an informational site
which is very good and the reason that google considers your site
relevant and why it didn't drop until now but you design your link
structure the same way the big time spammers do it and that is what is
going to kill you unless you act right now and change it. You literally
have no time to lose in doing this I may ad.

I finally realized since yesterday what this google change is all about.
It's all about relevancy and getting rid of ireelevant sites that spam.
There's no filter, there's no -googlegoo, and google is not trying to
get us to pay for listings as I had thought maybe they were trying to
do. The new algo is simply new software google installed at databses
-mc, -gv, and kr to replace -sj, -zu, and -in which were allowing
irrelevant serps to show up. The new software stops all irrelevant serps
dead in their tracks. relevancy is measured by page title, text content,
and linking. You get 100% grade in title and content but 0% in linking.
