Default Google new appearance - 12-22-2003 , 10:48 AM

I see that Google is changing its appearance, giving more space to the
commercial listings. The Orwellian double speak from the Googleplex towers
about the need to reduce the amount of commerce going through their engine
is revealing. Rather they wish to capitalize upon it. Not much anyone can do
I suppose. Soon every single word in the English language will have
"SPONSERED LISTINGS".

the ad box is resizable and appears larger on some screens

also before the organic listings froogle, news, or DMOZ category may appear

they also are running froogle ads at the bottom of the serp

what is the 'ad box'? can't see any resizable thingies here.

I do see the mouse cursor change to the 'hand' when it rolls over the paid
ads - wonder why they do that when click does nothing except when over a
link.

could be the 'road to ruin' for them. was it alta-vista that put the mostly
useless 'shop for...' links on their results pages?

in your logs of late? big money at stake now.

Works when I click. There's an onclick event defined. Do you have
Javascript enabled?

Ahh - that would do it. In which case one would assume the cursor would be
managed by a roro script.

Certainly not.

Compliments of the season to one and all.
