I have a PR7 website from which I sell sponsored links. This is a very spartan home page (www.cooldictionary.com), so there are not many links on it now. Right now I am deciding on the max number of such links. The objective is maximizing my own profit. Is 11 a good number for the meximum? |

You will be belonging to the neighborhood of pages you link to. If they're all pages which try to get a high ranking, they might use methodologies which could defines as "spam" neighborhood. In other words, if you get too close to a bad neighborhood, then that's a problem. 1 link to a bad neighborhood is harmless, a dozen may not be. In any case, if the sites you point to are all "natural" (no link-farming strategies etc.) there's no worries even with 11 links. Pretty much every blog has more than 11 links in the navigation and it's simply nothing that would ever be punished on its own (and why should it?). |
