Difficulties in filtering search-engine results to yield up-to-date
content.

Phrase to find "Internet trends" "July * 2006" (month, date,
year) content posted within last three-months: (about 700 results)

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...rend%22+ %22j
uly+2006%22&as_qdr=m3&btnG=Search

To narrow-down search-results (much) further:

The words HE, SHE, ME are excluded (the 'without the words' feature
in advanced search form). After all, content which can signal current
trends usually doesn't contain HE, SHE, ME. Certain pronouns usually
indicate personal accounts of individuals; rather than the
"collective conscious" shaping current trends.

(Less than 50 results)

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...rend%22+ %22j
uly+2006%22+-he+-she+-me&as_qdr=m3&btnG=Search

Searches still need to be narrowed-down further; as most search results
don't include current month.

Descriptions of results within search-results mostly include three
bolded periods '...' which indicates two different parts of
content; where the date searches are separate from the keyword
searches; yielding outdated content.

Are there search-engine utilities to allow omission of search-results
containing the three bolded periods '...'?

It would be usefull if Google allowed you to filter results by the date of
the pages last update......
The newsgroups allow much more detailed constraints for setting dates
than the search for websites feature.

Options for setting detailed date constraints still yield outdated
content e.g., blogs can have the date specified, yet the content being
sought may be in an older blog entry.
