I just tried a couple of Google commands with and without the "www" site:www.cardreport.com brings up 18,500 pages site:cardreport.com brings up 18,700 pages and link:www.cardreport.com bring up 159 pages link:cardreport.com "did not match any documents." Anyone else seeing this? Why? |

Anyone else seeing this? Why? If 159 pages have links to www.cardreport.com and none have links to cardreport.com, then what would you expect? While web sites reachable by www.xxx.tld are also typically configured to be reachable by xxx.tld, this is just a convention. These host names aren't inherently equivalent. You could easily have no web site at all at xxx.tld, or, if you're perverse enough, have it point to a different site from www.xxx.tld. Therefore, Google (correctly) doesn't treat them as synonyms. |

Harlan.. Can you tell me how you found out how many links there were to that webpage or where you just using 159 as an example that you picked randomly? |
