a reduction to the price charged for AdWord clicks if the click wa deemed to not be of high quality or closely relevant to the search They called this "Smart Search" From their announcement "We are constantly analyzing data across our network, and if ou dat shows that a click is less likely to turn into business result (e.g online sale, registration, phone call, newsletter sign-up), we ma reduce the price you pay for that click. You may notice a reductio i the cost of clicks from content sites We take into account many factors such as what keywords or concept triggered the ad, as well as the type of site on which the ad wa served. For example, a click on an ad for digital cameras on a we page about photography tips may be worth less than a click on th sam ad appearing next to a review of digital cameras. So, Google is now applying some quality factor based on "the typ o site"... so just because the advertiser bid $1 per click doesn' mea they paid $1. Of course, since Google is so secretive on al side of this, it's all just on the honor system (until the lawsuit start) |
