Like many of you, I get most of my hits from Google. I have hundreds of pages on my site, and Google grabs virtually all of them and delivers traffic to them. I do get limited traffic from MSN and Hotbot (Inktomi) - nowhere near what I get from Google but still probably worth the cost of the Inktomi visits to my site. On the other hand, the Fast and Scooter webcrawlers visit often and gobble up almost everything but give me almost no hits back. Nothing (from Altavista or Lycos, anyway). For all the bandwidth they eat up crawling my site, my ROI is zero. I'm really tempted to ban them altogether. Thoughts? Anyone getting a significant amount of traffic from engines using Fast or Scooter results? -- I. |
