How much traffic do you get from it per month?
Is the traffic amount from ATW greater than from Google?

Traffic from AllTheWeb comes through their partners, like Lycos.
There's an old list here: http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum4/497.htm

I didn't just look at my site. I examined a few searches and looked at

The reason I ask is that I manage over 100 sites and none of them gets
anything appreciable from ATW. We used to, but now the most we get is 11%
of the total hits for the site. Not worth throwing away but nowhere near as
relevant.

I did hear somewhere that ATW was gaining popularity as was poised to be

It is highly unlikely that anyone will usurp Google in the next 12 months.
Unless MSN has a KILLER algorithm...and I mean value beyond what is
available now, not just as good...it just will not happen. Google has too
much momentum and human nature is to not switch unless the threat of pain is
greater than the inconvenience of the switch.

Sure, Google did some interesting things, and picked one heck of a time to
do them...but those of us who use solid SEO are pretty pleased with the new
results overall...not in every instance...but overall.

ATW was the best for a while and let it go. Yahoo was once the king and now
they struggle wit a variety of business sub-models that have got to be
confusing to their corporate strategists.

I am not sure how open the market is to a new SE or a revitalization of an
old one but I don't think ATW has a chance because they threw it all away
once...people are not very forgiving....although, that was a long time ago
and people have short memories as well.

For your sake, I hope you are right to some degree. It would be nice if
there were 4 or 5 engines/directories that were responsible for an almost
equal amount of traffic. That would change the face of SEO as well as
Internet Marketing, making things much more segmented, but it would not
leave so many vendors left holding an empty bag for Christmas like they did
this past year...if their SEO folks used some questionable methods :-))

No one will unseat Google in a long time, I have trouble finding anyone who
doesn't use it. Even people that rarely use the internet (a few that I know
who just poll email once in a while) still know that Google is the place to go
for search.

Are you saying that 11% of your total traffic is from AllTheWeb?

That is enormous.

Total search engine traffic from all search engines should be less than 10%
on a properly designed and executed site.

Where did you get that number from? I would doubt anyone wouild get good
traffic with numbers like that unless they were a hugely bookmarked site.
Where would your new traffic come from?

I think it also depends what kind of site you have. Yours has a pretty
local market. Whe you start dealing with products that can be International
in nature, you will see most of your traffic will have to come from SE's and
Directories becuase that is the most effective way to get new clients
on-line.

When your SEO is doen well, your SE traffic is much higher.. none of my
sites would survive on 10% from SE's. That usually means low or no growth.

I am curious, how many new, unique visitors do you see per month? What kind
of growth?
