No problem. Uhm, erm, not that I am a fan of thong undies ... or
anything like that ... it was just, erm, well - let's just say I
enjoyed my morning cup of coffee while admiring the "view" and
wondering what it would look like in a pair in jeans

*looks for fan*

Now ... uhm ... what was your question again?

LOL!

You might want to explain it in your text content a little more so
that way the search engines will know too.

I presume some category description would help as well, i.e writing some
keyword dense text about thongs, or about maxi's in the maxi's and
briefs section.

Absolutely. Carol volunteers. Probably.
Descriptions should probably be along the lines of "mens fashion
underwear" else you'll have folks of my vintage turning up looking for
granny shirts and y-fronts. This is where your keyword research begins
to demonstrate why it's needed.

I think Adam may be looking for someone who does this on a
professional level, a the subject line hints he is looking for quotes
from folks, and not someone like me who does SEO and such for their
own sites.

But yes, Adam, keyword density will help you out on the phrases you
wish to target via the search engines. You don't have to go "hard and
heavy" on the density thoughts in the pages; I get by just fine with
around 3% range - so you can use the 2% to 8% thought as a startign
off point on that thought. Tweak the wording - and see how it goes
then you can tweak it some more and gauge how that worked in your
favor [or not] as you don't want to turn off the folks coming to the
site also in presenting overly repetitious, boring text either but get
a blend that appeals to them and to the search engines both.

You can help support your on-page density by targetting 'preferred'
anchor text. For example - you may not want outside links coming your
way just sharing "Justhom.com" or "Just HOM" [your domain name and/or
site name]. You may want some of those inbound links sharing "Just HOM
fashionable mens' underwear" or some such wording that has the brand
name plus some of your keywords shared in the text pointed your way.

Right now anchor text is the "rage" especially in terms of Google; for
how long - no one knows. If the algo changes, then you still have a
link pointed your way - so that link will count one way or another.
*shrug*

The above is just a couple of thoughts related to handling of keywords
in the text.

Carol

Thanks great info Carol well worth the read, My business partner is a
Fashion Journo/Editor so copy is not a problem and I can direct to the
sort of thing that we would need to include.

Trying to get links to our site from other relevant sites is somewhat of
a nightmare, as although we have a direct link from the manufactuer on
their retailers page, anyone else just doesn't want to do it or doesnt
reply to emails, i've gone down the route of getting involved in a lot
of the undewear and gay fashion forums so that I can answer any
questions that they may have about HOM underwear (because it's got a
very large gay following, not because im gay myself - straight as an
arrow me, I know what bus im on etc. etc.) , but the problem with doing
that is that most if not all forum admins will not let me have my
signature linking to my site as self promotion is banned on most forums.
Pretty much exhausted every possible thing I can think of where other
places may want to link to us (even tried the yourcan thing but it
didn't like our site for some reason and the code wouldn't work
correctly with us)
