Question on Linking

What about linking to sites that are selling (custom made) term papers,
college essays, research papers, dissertations, etc. Will I be in any way
penalized by linking to such a site? They obviously support academic
deceit -- or am I wrong? Thanks for your help.

It depends if it is related to your site.

If you are a site selling cars for example, then no.

related links are good.
no related links are not.
