Default Problems submitting to Google? - 10-16-2005 , 04:33 PM

Hi,

I am having real problems submitting my site to Google. I wonder if I
am doing anything wrong?

I have used the "Submitting your Site" like found at:
http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en/addurl.html

I submitted my site about 1 month ago now but it's still not listed on
Google. Would someone who knows about web site design and promotion
take a look please?

I have included the usual <meta name="keywords"> and <meta
name="description"> tags that I understand search engines use for
listing sites. Am I just being too hasty? How long does the process
usually take? Sureley it cant be over a month.

The URL of the site is:

http://www.beaver-rescue.co.uk/

Thanks

Submitting your site does not implicate that it is going to or will be
visited by googlebot.

Make sure you have links to your site, then the robots will find it.

Maybe google will have to take a manual look at it, as it contains the
word beaver

It is early days. It took 2 months until my site was crawled by Google.
If you don't have any back links, it can take longer. You don't appear
to have any links to/from other sites (this is what google likes). You
need to work on this!

If I were youI'd plump up your keywords a bit I did a search on Fire
Engine Hire and these are the keywords of the company that came first:

We will hire you a uniformed chauffeur to drive one of our Fire Engine
or emergency vehicle for your special event. The Fire Engine is
available for Birthdays, Hen Parties, Stag Parties, Weddings, Kids
Parties, Corporate Events, TV work, Fire Cover or other special
occasion.content="Emergency 999 - Fire Engine Hire

Apart from that it just takes time. In teh time it took to get my site
listed I improved some of my page names (still doing this), kept
checking and updating keywords, updated titles and descriptions.
Improved the content of my site. Exchanged ots of links with other
sites.

HTH

Louise

Yes, you shouldn't be submitting it in the first place. You submit to
directories, who will not include you unless you do. You let engines
find you by getting a link to your site from a site already indexed.

Why would that make a difference (assuming that wasn't a complete
joke)??

Google will happily index hard core porn.

To the OP you need links to your site, get some links and be indexed
over night (usually).

Not sure if it has anything to do with not being indexed, but Netcraft
REALLY doesn't like your site. You got a risk rating of 10 out of 10.
It probably has to do more with your host than your site, tho.

But it might be something to look in to.

Roy has been using Netcraft longer than I have, maybe he can share some
insight on the matter.

No. You just have to spit the hairs out.
