Default Problem with 2 important keywords on website - 04-13-2005 , 09:01 AM

I have been trying to optimize certain keywords on
www.studiebyenesbjerg.dk. That has worked quite well so far. I am
however a bit frustrated because the site fails to show up in Google on
2 of the most important words "Esbjerg" (name of a Danish city) and
"Uddannelse" (Danish for education). I fail to understand why the site
can't be found in Google for these words because both words are repeated
often in both title tag and text. There are inbound links with the words
Esbjerg, although I'm not sure there are inbound links with
"Uddannelse". Still I think the page should show up, right?

Can anyone tell me where the problem is?

At top left of every page you have two links to ?forside

1. There is problem with the second one (the little white house). The alt
text displays on my IE6 browser as Forsiden and not as the text in the alt
field. Since Forsiden does not appear in the source this is very strange.

2. The alt texts need careful thought.
alt="Studiebyen Esbjerg - Læs om uddannelse, videregående uddannelser og
meget mere"
alt="Information for studerende om uddannelse og videregående uddannelser i
Esbjerg"
Maybe the following would be better if Esbjerg uddannelse matters.
alt="Studiebyen Esbjerg uddannelse, videregående uddannelser og meget mere"
alt="Information for studerende om Esbjerg uddannelse og videregående
uddannelser"

3. In my opinion, it would have been better to have
href="http://www.studiebyenesbjerg.dk/" than href="?forside" . You appear
to have two identical content home pages with different urls.
http://www.studiebyenesbjerg.dk/ and
http://www.studiebyenesbjerg.dk/?forside

Best regards, Eric

There are some problems with your optimization, the TITLE tag in an
Anchor element isn't used by Google so no point spamming it; the ALT tag
is not legal so will be ignored.

However your site is no.8 in google.com and google.dk for the phrase:
Esbjerg Uddannelse. As your site seems to be about education in Esbjerg
this seems like a result to me. If you want to show up just for say
Esbjerg you will have to get some inbound links with that term in the
anchor text as there are about 1.2 million other sites that show up for
that keyword.

I have removed the title tag in the anchor text but why do you think the
ALT tag is illegal?

Position 8 is ok. but the site has to appear in Google when searching
for Esbjerg and Uddannelse seperately.
