Hmmm.. lookie here. Links to PR7 Blog for a PayPal monthly payment. It's offers like this that convinces me that Google needs to take a hard look at what is happening out there. You have to think that the zero relevantcy holocaust will be right around the corner once you see links for sale on eBay. |

You have to think that the zero relevantcy holocaust will be right around the corner once you see links for sale on eBay. Zero relevency? I don't understand what you mean. The links will have anchor text that relates to the target site, what more relevency do you need than that? |

Like if I had my humor site link on a site selling saxophones or clock radios; the clock radio or sax site may have a PR6 - cool for PR thoughts, but when considering about theming playing a bit [notice I said a bit] of a factor on Google [in terms of links/anchor text] and click through thoughts ... then the link is just a link to any ol' site thought. |

Some folks may not care about those other two thoughts, but other folks it may be a bit of a factor on their side on where they "pay" for a link at as they may want more than a temporary boost to their PR [as the little bit of PR from Site A will only flow as long as Site B pays]. Which, thanks to at least two coop sites, why even pay for PR thoughts anymore? |

I think it plays a bigger factor than what some think. A few non related links are fine but when a site goes overboard with the percentage on the non related similar site side...then I feel it can cause more harm than good. But, in terms of PR then yeah you can beef up PR real fast that way. |

Just speaking for my site, as it started the thread, the links to the right side are mostly relevant, and not too many. -- Google Blogoscoped http://blog.outer-court.com |
