Default open directory updating URL - 07-09-2004 , 08:58 AM

Now waited 6 months with two applications to get a URL updated in the
opendirectory. Anyone know the best way to get this done by way of a paid
submission with a guarantee that the update will be carried out? Regards

What is the Open Directory all about? Can it help your web get ranked if
you belong to it or is it just for posting information?
Thanks!

www.dmoz.org

Human edited directory like Yahoo but run by volunteers (I'm the editor for
my city category).

Yes, it can help you get ranked higher since some search engines view sites
included in dmoz to be good enough to have passed human review.

Additionally, some pages on dmoz have high PR which might help if you are
lucky enough to be included on one.

Since it is a free directory, anybody can copy it and therefore once you
are added to the directoy your sites will be linked to from many webpages.

Thanks for the comeback Ed, I am fully aware of what www.dmoz.org is all
about now and think that it is a great thing that everyone is doing on a
volunteer basis, maybe down the road I can contribute my time and efforts as
well.
Thanks again!
