You are invited to use a new rank comparison engine
which compares the rank given to each Web Page
by many search engines. The interface provides
a great visual tool.

The address is: http://roquefort.di.unipi.it/comparison.html

What to you mean by rank? If it is the place for your site given a search
term then the results shown are not correct.

If they were it would be an excellent tool.

I'm baffled - and impressed that you got far enough with it to have some
understanding of its benefits/limitations.

Have you worked out what one puts into the search field - if it's a URL,
what search term is it ranking against and, if it's a search term, what site
is it checking in the serps?

Have I completely missed the point here?

The only thing I would say is that, when I searched on one of my domains, I
found IBLs that I didn't know existed - admittedly they were low PR pages in
directories but still, it did tell me something I didn't previously know.

I too noticed inaccuracies between its results and actual searches in the
particular SE.

I haven't even looked yet, but I'd bet that the Google results will be a
bit off because it likely uses the Google API - which I believe uses a
different index server or something. Afterall, using anything else is
against Google's terms

There are also problems with Looksmart. Compare

Put your desired search term in. Wait for it to complete.
Then hold the mouse over the buttons (at the top) and it highlights the
sites that have been found and the "postions" in the serps. The postions do
not seem right though.
