Default New Google Changes? - 09-01-2006 , 07:59 AM

Has anybody else besides me noticed the changes at Google this morning??

Type your url address into google and take a look...

I sure hope this is a fluke and not really happening.

I'm probably missing something - what should I be seeing?

AFAIK google used to open the url you typed. Now it treats url as regular
text and shows SERP.

Doesn't for me.

I never noticed - I did know people use that box to type in a url, but
I figured they then just clicked on the first result.

Yes, that's what I saw - which is why I couldn't see anything wrong

Oh, that is just from Google's home page. Type it in the toolbar which is
why I didn't see anything different.

Google toolbar? No thanks - don't want that one :-)
I usually type it in the search box top right in FF, and I think that
one have been giving SERPs always, not sites. I'm sure I've typed my
address in there before, just to see what sites mention it, and Google
has never sent me directly to a web page without me clicking a SERP
first.

Um, for me it shows links to a selection of pages from the site. Not
too many though.

Have you ever tried to type address at google home page instead of Fx
search input? Thats a difference.
Not entire urls, no, but just 'locusmeus.com' I think I have actually.
Maybe that wasn't picked up because it doesn't have 'www' ?

Nevertheless it could be connected with other conditions (eg. google
domain google.com vs. google.pl). But I'm pretty sure (my colegues in
office as well) that google goes to the site if you typed whole url.
Both .nl and .com show me SERPs when typing in http://locusmeus.com/
