Default my links page is full of unrelated links, is this bad? - 05-01-2004 , 08:11 PM

I have a links page but it is a list of websites that are unrelated to my
content. Just Other vendors selling goods.
But some of these pages have a good PR.

Is this bad?

It is so hard to get listed on other sites related to yours and especially
if they are listed higher in search results.
What do I do?

Thanks

yes...it helps them, it doesn't help you

provide information about your field of business that they don't...offer
them a reciprocal link to your information pages...use those to draw the
customers in

Consider carefully if any of the sites you link to are 'bad neighbourhoods'
'junk sites' 'directories' or 'link farms'. If so, this reflects badly on
your site as it displeases your visitors who follow such links (Google
understands this also and may penalise you). Delete all such links.

Don't link to any site that demands reciprocal links. They would not be
demanding a return link if the link was there on merit and for the benefit
of viewers. They are putting links only in an attempt to influence Google.

Concentrate on quality content, tell people about it and people will put
links to your site because it is good at pleasing people.

Best regards, Eric.
