Default MSN More relevant than Google? - 10-26-2005 , 12:11 AM

Is anyone else finding searches on MSN to be more relevant than Google? It
seems to be getting more and more pronounced.

I was just looking and the results do seem better than they were
although too many sponsored links on the results page for my taste.

MSN does seem to deliver much better results than Google for the past
few months. It looks as if MSN is relying more an actual page content
which makes the search results more relevant.
Google seems more concerned with how many other web sites link to your
site than what the page is actually about so the results get a bit
slanted.

Just my opinion. Your mileage may vary.

I am not sure, but whilst optimising my site specifically for better
positioning on Google I have accidentally achieved number 1 spots for some
very competitive keywords on MSN, so they must be using fairly similar
methods behind the scenes IMO.

This would be specifically on-page seo?

Oh yes, I should have been more specific. By optimising I meant on page
SEO - titles, keywords, content, page names etc.

Glad to hear it. At first I thought it was just a one time thing, but every
time I search MSN seems to give the better results!

It seems to be getting more and more pronounced.

I also think that the MSN searchengine is better than Google.

Kind Regards
