ok here it is: http://beta.search.msn.com/ It is like someone has ripped off Google and mixed the results with sponsored links and adverts and added a load of irrelevant results. In fact it is almost like the bad old Microsoft search interface before they cleaned it up. |

I'm sitting here scratching my head over what I see. For instance, a search for "oregon alpaca farms" returns this - http://www.alpaca-farms-breeders.com/contact.htm - which does not show the word "oregon" anywhere in it. |

I think the MSN Beta is heavily influenced by domain name, URL and TITLE elements. |

Look at the source and "Oregon" appears in the select list in the form for the page. So, it does not appear to reflect weighting on any of the common aspects of a web page - keyword density, bold, italic, headers, title, description, keywords, etc. Kind of bizarre, I would say. |

But a mixed bag, I agree.On the other hand <span style="conspiracy theory">don't a number of the page 1 and 2 results look like FP created/template pages?</span |

Not to mention keywords in anchor text for links. They appear to have "contact us" as the keywords of choice for links pointing to that page! MM |
