Minimal SEO and maximum ranking !

PS: don't bother searching my own site, you'd need to be very patient...

Noone is going to be optimising for that keyphrase IMO. And noone is going
to be searching for it. (According to overture)

Google never shows all the backlinks that a person has. You have to do
different typed searches to find all the sites, and even then it still
wouldn't show them all but would give you a rough estimate. Try searching
different ways to see if you can find them. Most of the time if you use the
person's business name in quotes it will bring up most of them.

Do you mean that if a phrase is not competitive, results are random ? I
mean, even for a non-competitive phrase, there must be criteria to rank
results and I guess these criteria don't depend on the competitiveness
(competitivity ?) of the phrase: they should be the same for competitive
and non-competitive phrases.
According to this, I would expect usual SEO techniques to apply in all
cases, am I wrong ? I guess I am, but I don't see where :-)


(Votre français est très bon, mais il vaut mieux dire : "peut-être ce
n'est pas une expression...", ou encore mieux : "peut-être n'est-ce pas
une expression..." That would be perfect ;-) )

Noone is going to be optimising for that keyphrase IMO.

Why not ? This is what I would search for if I was looking for bed &
breaksfast (chambres d'hôtes in French). Quercy is the name of a region
in France.

Good point, but I still can't think of better keywords. If you search

for bed & breakfast in Alabama, you just type in "bed and breakfast
alabama"; if you search for bed & breakfast in missouri, you type in
"bed and breakfast missouri".
The question behind that is: how accurate is Overture ?

You were right, I followed you instructions and got more results, so I
guess this is finally the reason why they get such a good ranking. The
funny thing is that among the links I found, there is one from the
Google directory... which doesn't appear if I you use the "link:" search
in Google !
