Default [Mews] Origami UMPC Bugs Delay Release - 05-01-2006 , 01:15 PM

Origami PC maker has to scribble 'wait'

With Samsung planning a U.S. launch of its Origami tablet on Monday,
the folks at TabletKiosk had hoped to already be shipping
significant quantities of their rival device.

Instead, the tiny Southern California company discovered a
manufacturing issue in the first prototypes; the internal fan was
striking the devices' outer shell, causing a myriad problems. As a
result, the company had to make some tweaks, and most of the devices
won't ship until June.

Could you /ever/ expect reliability from Microsoft products? Or announced
release dates to be honoured? Judging by the significant Vista and Office
delays, the Origami might as well see the light in early 2007.

I like 'Mews'. Sounds like something alley cat picked up and brought into
my kitchen so I could sniff it too :-)

*LOL* That was a typo. I stick to a very small font size, so it's hard to
discern M's from N's when they are capitalised. Mews sounds like something
between actual news and just a muse. *smile*

I guess all these typos (I have plenty in my messages, which I immediately
spot if I re-read) are just a product of sloppy and fast posting habits.
Less fortunately, it is not the first time that I post an item to the _wrong
group_. That has proven to be far more embarrassing. An automated
spellchecker cannot have a go at the writer's intent. *smile*

Best wishes,

Roy

Mewa (singular) is a gull in Polish. Mews doesn't mean anything, but at
first I could not remember English name of the bird and for the moment I
wondered if mews is not just an English plural of mew

Mews is what a cat does (I thought I'd get that in before Mogga does).
