Default Maximum number of pages indexed by Google? - 09-02-2003 , 03:25 PM

What is the maximum number of pages that Google will index on a single web
site or domain? (Not by submission but by spidering alone).

No answer but additional questions:

What happens after google reaches to maximum of pages for a domain?
- will it just stop spidering more pages?
- will it get upset and "forget" everything about this domain? Will it keep
the already spidered pages?
- will it continue to re-spider the pages already done after some
days/weeks?

Thanks, Werner

Well... judging by sites like Geocities, MSN (MSN Groups), eBay, CNN (or any
other news site), etc... you should be able to deduce that there is no
limit

Those sites may have partnered with Google in some fashion. I was wondering
about sites that have no special relationship with Google.

I was going to say literally unlimited, but it would be an assumption
since this is un testable (do you have a billion page site :-)).

Our lingerie site has over 2000 pages we think they are all indexed
(3000 odd pages found when you do an allinurl and we have no
relationship with Google. Have seen sites with a lot more pages than
this indexed.
