Default Nice SERP presentation - how do I do that? - 09-06-2006 , 04:47 PM

Just noticed on another search that the first entry has a nicely listed
entry on Google. Am curious how this is done. Seem like a good way to
provide user friendly information.

Afaik it's only for the top result. Some people guess it's done manually.

I guess it's done automatically. If the site #1 *and* it's clearly
important for that keyword, it's shown. For example:

http://www.google.com/search?q=perl perl.com does it
http://www.google.com/search?q=perl%...e%20o%27reilly doesn't
http://www.google.com/search?q=perl%...0site%20weekly doesn't

Yes, it's cool :-)

Didn't know, guess you still can't huh?:-)

The recipes aren't added yet. The website is very new, but I wanted to use
it in the sig as next month is Halloween.:-) I always wait until the last
minute for things. Anyway, I hope to have it pretty much done at the end of
the week.

I'll make a deal with you. Assuming the recipes are as clean and well
structured as the code behind them I'll give them a try. But next week you
can't post asking why the page is not #1 in the serps and has no PR.

LOL! Now why would I do that? I have never complained here in this NG about
not having no PR and or not being #1 in the SERPs.

Automated process would be nice, but it does not seem to apply to most
of the top listing that I have seen. Besides, the sub-listing does not
seem to be related to the keyword as such.

Anyway, one example is if you do a search on "Verizon Wireless", it has
the similar "nice" format.

Most curious, YFJ

Like I said, it probably only work for very specific keywords, of which
the site has to be the authority.

But I guess that something else plays a role as well, since otherwise john
bokma should do it as well.

Aargh, I just deleted my sig.
