A single word domain name not already taken that would be good for a
business?

Seems highly unlikely, unless you are searching a non-English dictionary...

Hi,

This has been done many times by many people already. There are a lot
of people (and companies) that register and sell domains for a living.
Your time is probably more wisely spent buying a domain that already
has been registered by someone else at a decent price. A good place to
get names at good prices is namepros.com.

Good luck!

I disagree, though you may get a bargain at ebay (I got a 4 character brand
for $20.00)

I've bought 6 and 7 letter domains 'new', much cheaper than going through a
squatter, and I buy to use, not to resell.

Also, there are millions of word combinations so far untouched, and if
serenitymovie.com is good enough for Joss Whedon, then double words are good
enough for me.

Plus there are untold millions of character combinations to be built into
brands.
