Default Links on Google - 06-08-2006 , 09:06 AM

Dear All,
I have a web site: http://www.webservicesfree.com which is up and
running for more than two months. MSN and Yahoo were able to catch the
links to my site. However Google did not catch a single link (using
link: operator). How can I improve the situation.
thank you

Hi there. If you dig through the past weeks topics you'll find a few
posts about the site: operator being busted. Sorry I cannot be of more
help. I leave the rest of your questions to the pros!

Google is very particular about what links it picks being valuable now.
Try to get links from .gov and .edu web sites along with niche
directories (although if there are a hundred other links on the same
page it won't be of much use).

True, which leads me to wonder if Google aren't pointing us with a big
stick in the direction of getting links purely for the traffic they
might bring.

Hey, that's very good advice indeed. Just to maybe add a little
footnote to that; as you so nicely suggested that the OP seek links
from niche directories so is that concept magnified with gaining links
from niche .gov and .edu sectors. Always try to see where you can get
those, first and foremost.

<controversial SEO technique>

.... and here is a little, wee, teeny', petite, miniscule,
infinitesimally small, not often talked about technique that seems to
be making a huge, mega, gargantuan, massive, understatedly significant
comeback ... include within the web site one or two logically placed
keyphrase rich textual links back to these .gov and .edu web sites.
Google's present obsessions revolve around determining a web page's
credibility and authenticity.

Naturally, major improvements to SERP positioning will occur when
linking issues get resolved. You may feel the urge to pour this
technique on a little too heavy and BOOM, down the SERPs the web pages
go. Don't abuse this but hurry up before too many more figure out how
to do this right and google will have to figure out how to decipher
between genuine genuineness and artificial genuineness.

</controversial SEO technique>

Get going developing your own qualitative and quantitative uniqueness!

Best regards and may all your SERP positions be among the top
challengers in all your keyphrase competitions,
