Default Links form websites whose Adsense account has been cancelled - 11-01-2006 , 07:55 AM

Hello everyone,

I need some feedback on the following situation:
there are a number of links pointing to some of my websites and I've
found out that the owner of the links had a Google Adsense account
that's been cancelled. I don't know the reasons, if they played dirty
or not. Can this situation be considered as bad neighbourhood for my
websites? Should I ask them to remove immediately the links pointing to
my sites. What's your opinion on this kind of situations? Has anyone
encountered this issue before? Any info would be of great help. Thanks.

As you have no control over who might put a link to your site, just
think logical...

If it would be fact that a link from a bad site would get your's into
trouble, then it would be possible to get your site down in the rankings
or even penalised.

Are you linking back to them? If you are, stop.

I agree with tonnie here. As long as you're not returning the favor, I
can't see any harm. Otherwise people would be buying links in bad
neighbourhoods, and pointing them to the competition massively.

Someone scraped a Wikipedia article a while back that just happened to
have a link to one of my sites in it, and then spammed the world + dog
with it - around 2,000 pages.

It didn't seem to affect my site, except that the site: search stopped
working almost completely and will even today only show me one page -
just enough to tell me I'm not banned.

Traffic was, as far as I could see, unaffected.
