Default links from all text? - 04-12-2005 , 10:49 AM

would having all references to a phrase on a site link to a relevant page
help a site i.e. all references to "alloy wheels" are a clickable link to
alloy-wheels.asp for EVERY instance of that phrase or would this reduce
keyword density because the text is now a link?

The keyword density would be the same. For some instances I would say that
link text is weighed more for relevancy, except when there is a lot of links
going to the same page. But having the links go to several pages would be
best, or keep the links to a few to one page. The amount of links can pull
your PR down from transferring PR to the other page.

so for example on an ecommerce site, links from images and text (thumbs and
product title) will devalue the PR of the home page?

Is it going to pages to the same site? Then it will flow PR back if a link
is going back to the home page, so not much PR will be lost no problem. If
it is going a page on another site then of course it will decrease your PR.

Hello Mark,

Its better to have a couple of the phrases in the links and the rest
in plain text. If every instance of a phrase is in a link it will
annoy your customers and we all need them - we do not want them to run
away from our sites ... right?

If interested visit http://www.do-it-yourself-search-eng...timization.com
and learn some search engine optimization.

Regards,
Pramod
