Default Linkfarms - 11-09-2003 , 04:57 AM

What will happen to a website when it contains one page like this one:
http://www.lening.nl/linken.html
Is this site automatically banned by Google?
(I think the answer is yes, but need to know for sure...)

And what happens to website, which does not have a page like that, but has
been added in a linkfarm elsewhere...
Will this website be banned?

AFAIK, you can't be banned if a dodgy site links to you because you have no
control over that.
But if you link out to a dodgy site then that looks bad for you.

Wow look at all those domains he owns

I don't know an easy way to attribute quotes without excessive cut& pasting.

The webpage is not banned; it is in Google with PR=4. There is no reason to
ban it, as the owner might have good reason to have a web page with a list
of links he uses from time to time to get to his sites. There is little
point in getting listed on such a page however as the PR benefit back to you
is negligible since what you get back is the PR=4 divided by the number of
links which must be several hundred in this case! Also, since none of the
links contain anchor text the links contribute no useful information to the
target pages.
Given the limited text content of the page (8 words only) it is unlikely to
show up much in search results - so really it is no big deal.
Best regards, Eric.

This page is not just some linkspage, it's a page that will be added to your
website, when you hire a certain SEO to optimize your site for Google.

I've more than the one I mentioned:
http://www.auto-verkoopcentrale.nl/linken.html
http://www.ocean-waterbehandeling.nl/linken.html

What about point 3 on http://www.klickonusa.com/webmastertips.htm?

Thanks. Looks good. How did I do?
It doesn't look very good where our 2 names get muddled up with each other

Looks just fine. More importantly the attribution is clear to anyone
interested.

But now look.
