Link popularity check

Link popularity is an important factor to rank you site higher in
Search Result. You can easily count how many site has linked your
site. To calculate how many site has linked your site in Google
search by simply typing site:http://www.yoursite.com and will show
the search result and number of site that has placed your link. You
can do the same thing in yahoo or MSN search engines.

You have the right idea roxxy, but . . .

The site: operator in Google is not very accurate and most SEO's use
linkdomain: in Yahoo when doing research. Also things to consider would
be the value of the links, the age of the links, what anchor text was
used in the links, examining your competition for comparison in these
fields, etc.

In short there are MANY factors to consider in linking. Linking in
itself is only one factor out of many.

Try http://siteexplorerer.search.yahoo.com It is a neat way to see
which pages are crawled on your site and what are the inlinks found.
Google does not provide link: info quite well as yahoo does (just as
quoted earlier).
