Default Kazaa pulls a Scientology on Google - 09-03-2003 , 06:48 AM

Do a search for "Kazaa" on Google. Look at the bottom. There's a familiar
notice, citing 14 removed results. Click the DMCA notice on Chilling Effects
and you get this astoundingly hypocritical DMCA notification from the biggest
bunch of pirates on the face of the planet.

This may need explaining for those not familiar with Kazaa.

Kazaa is a 'Peer-to-Peer' program which enables users to access files on
each other's computers, most commonly MP3 music files which is of course
copyright terrorism.
Kazaa gets its income from adverts, which in Kazaa's case are
particularly irritating popup Microsoft Explorer Windows, flashing boxes
etc.
Kazaa have themselves been pirated by programs that use the Kazaa
network but are ad-free.

My thoughts exactly. I hope that no-one really uses that term. The lack of
acknowledgement of what terrorism actually is is mindbogglingly stupid.

That's what $cientology has called people who post snippits of their kult
sekrets to Usenet and web sites. One person with a picket sign can strike
terror into thousands of them, it seems. Strange for a group that claims
to have power over Matter, Energy, Space and Time...

SCO Germany has already lost a lawsuit in Germany against a LINUX
company, and it was later held in contempt of court because it didn't
remove a web page claiming that LINUX has copyright infringements.
