checked and I wonder why that is" -- while in fact google.com ***is***
paying tribute to MLK Jr. today quite clearly, as i described. The MLK
drawing came up at midnight and is still there. I am guessing that the
image is being served to US IP addresses only. You (Big Bill) are in the
UK and wouldn't see it, nor would Roy, who is also not in the USA. I
don't know where [--Fred--] is posting from, but, again, i assume not
the USA, since he mentioned google.ca as an alternative.

I can't even access google.com, I just get 302'd to .co.uk

Try this
http://www.google.com/ncr

This is in reference to Google.ca, Google.com doesn't seem to pat
tribute to MLK today.

You are quite right. I have just checked and I wonder why that is.

Huh?

I distinctly saw a grey line-drawing of MLK Jr. and wo children and the
words " have a dream..." at regular goodle (.com, not .ca).

That's reasonable of Google. 99.9% of people outside the US have never
heard of Martin Luther King Day. It got mentioned in the UK financial
news as the reason for the NY exchange being closed for the day.

Funny enough, I knew because I sub to a couple of email lists about
these things.
