Default how to search for special characters - 01-05-2005 , 01:26 PM

Is there any way to search for special characters using any search engine?

For example, when I try to find any page with _exactly_
#2
all I get are pages with a 2, but no number sign. Quotes around it, i.e.
"#2", doesn't help.

How can I find pages with the number sign, ampersand, dollar sign,
equals sign, etc?

Thanks

Not possible: the number sign (#) is a special character that denotes a
bookmark or an anchor in the HTML document, so it does not get indexed.

Other special characters, such as plus sign you will have to URL-encode.
Here is some more information on the subject:

.... which says nothing about searching for special characters or URL
encoding. And you can't: when indexing material, Google treats special
symbols as delimiters.
