how is this freaking possible??? stupid scroogle - 12-09-2003 , 01:56 AM
I'm still indexed on google, but nowhere to be found on the money words.
I'm still listed as #1 on some of the lesser know words. My main keyword is
flag cases, I had a nice position in the top 5 for quite a while. Now you'll
see a guy in the #1 position who has many hidden keywords at the bottom of
his page. After being dumped I decided to give my site a makeover and cut
way down on the keyword density. I still have not moved in flag cases, in
fact I can't even find out what number I am because it is past 1000 pages.
THE INTERESTING THIS IS when I did the makeover I changed my title to
include a new term, certificate display case, and I was shot to #1 in that
how is it possible that I can't move in, flag cases, but I can go to #1
instantly in another category that is equally as relevant. What makes it
even more frustrating is that my domain name is my keywords.com

your site, period, and very few of your keywords appear on
the page. There is not much spider-food, in other words. Put
your key words in H1 and H2, in bold, in singular, and in
Some of your terms made no sense to me, not being in the
flag business. Only after i saw the word "memorial" did i
even understand why people would buy flag cases. I guess
people looking for them would know what they are looking
for, but why not give the reader a few clues? May i suggest
that instead of "triangle cases" you go with "triangular
memorial flag cases" for instance. And why not write a
paragraph with a few nice words like soldier, sailor,
veteran, memorial, patriotic, presentation, memento,
tribute, medals, and so forth on your top level page? Surely
these concepts are as important as "splines," which you
highlighted and linked.
On the page for triangle cases the only words are
Triangle Flag Cases | Square Flag Cases |
Flag & Certificate Cases | Custom Cases |

Cherry Triangle Cases Walnut Triangle Cases
Maple Triangle Cases Oak Triangle Cases
That is not enough to feed a spider! If you can't write ad
copy, hire someone to do it. I don't know a single thing
about flag cases. I never saw a flag case before tonight,
okay? But even i can come up with some catchy ad copy:
A memorial flag is a treasured memento and a symbol of
patriotic duty fulfilled. In times past, such flags were
lovingly folded and laid away in attic trunks and never
seen, but within the past few years a new custom has arisen
-- to frame and display the folded memorial flag in a
specially constructed triangular wooden flag case, where it
can be viewed as a tribute to the honour that it represents.
Our custom made wooden flag cases are constructed of fine
furniture-grade woods, finished to match any decor. When you
preserve and display a memorial flag in a triangular wooden
flag case, you tell the neighbors, "I was fool enough to
believe that George W. Bush had my country's best interests
at heart and now my son is dead because our president lied
about Saddam Hussein having weapons of mass destruction just
like Lyndon Johnson lied about the Gulf of Tonkin Incident,
and now our boys are being slaughtered in Iraq, just like
they were in Viet Nam."
Oh well, you can leave out that last sentence, but you get
the idea. You need WORDS to feed the spiders. Your site is
in need of words. (Also pictures of the Maple and Oak flag
cases would help!).

Your reading my site post OPP/ deoptimized!
People don't search for triangular memorial flag case or whatever, do you do
this for a living?
Enter a search for certificate display case, you'll see me at #1, the text
and keyword density on my site should be fine. People that buy flags cases
do not want to read catchy copy, they want to see a product, know the
quality and then look at a price. When you buy a pair Nike shoes do you want
to hear about poor Pablo who is enslaved in a sweatshop making shoes for
..0001 cents per day? No, you want to
BTW... catchy copy, you mean like this:
Woodflagcases.com is a co-op of woodworkers and artists based in Columbus,
Ohio. Great care should be taken to store your American flag, regardless of
whether it was a gift or purchased by you. Our display cases are designed to
assist you in proudly protecting, preserving and displaying your cherished
flag. The style of our display case, designed by a master furniture maker,
is very unique and you will find it at no other retailer on the internet.
Each display box is handmade one at a time with great care and pride using
the finest materials. We hand inspect each order before it is shipped to
ensure a high level of quality.
You did not click on the "about us" link which is an anchor to the bottom of
the main page, it's all there for the spiders to gobble.
I could go on, but then I'd sound like a know-it-all, which obviously I'm
I agree about the images and the Bush thing I'd rather not comment on

BTW I thought the Cat's copy was excellent, wish I could run off good

"triangular flag cases" you will supply WORDS to the spider
-- and since you were complaining that you have sunk down on
the search term < flag cases > i thought you might
appreciate the information that adding the words FLAG CASES
to your page would be helpful
35 years. I operate a successful online shop and i "play"
SEO as a game. I posted about the "game" aspects of SEO a
couple of days ago and you can look my old post up at
google, if you wish. I am in the top 10 for all keywords i
have campaigned on (many dozens) and in the top 5 for all
important google search terms for my shop. In my case, <
love spells > is the most popular term to get people TO the
site, and i is also the term most often searched-on term
WITHIN our 6,000 page site. I am at #1 for that term and
also for < sex magic > a rather competitive term. I am not a
boasting braggart, just a skilled word-smith. So, yes, this
is what i do for a living -- but only for myself, not for
flag case(s) > too, since you'd asked for help dealing with
the google droppage thing.
If SERPs is the name of the game, then we are working to
please the SPIDERS first and the people second -- 'cause if
no one can find our site because the spiders don't like it,
there won't be any people reading, will there?
Spiders do not see your pictures. They tally and make
databases of words. That's all they "see." And the google
algorithm, being designed by some pretty smart programmers,
doesn't like key words to be spammed (flag cases flag case
flag cases flag case ). And that is why i recommended
writing catchy body copy.

That is fine for an "about" page, but it is not a sales
pitch to a spider, just ad copy for humans. Keep it on your
":about page and it'll be nice, but here are the words that
i think will be helpful to spiders, and those should go on
your other pages.

Those are good words. Try adding a few others, like
the spider to read. That's just how it works. Don't shoot
Distribute your major keywords on EVERY PAGE and add
selected other words on each separate page so that you build
a big, wide funnel. Notice, for instance, how in the ad copy
i wrote for you, the word "custom" appeared in a different
meaning -- not custom made, but a custom of behaviour. This
is called making a word do double duty to the spiders, who
can't tell how you intend the word, only how it is spelled.
These are good tricks -- either use them or ignore them.
