how is this freaking possible??? stupid scroogle

I'm still indexed on google, but nowhere to be found on the money words.
I'm still listed as #1 on some of the lesser know words. My main keyword is
flag cases, I had a nice position in the top 5 for quite a while. Now you'll
see a guy in the #1 position who has many hidden keywords at the bottom of
his page. After being dumped I decided to give my site a makeover and cut
way down on the keyword density. I still have not moved in flag cases, in
fact I can't even find out what number I am because it is past 1000 pages.
THE INTERESTING THIS IS when I did the makeover I changed my title to
include a new term, certificate display case, and I was shot to #1 in that
search overnight.
how is it possible that I can't move in, flag cases, but I can go to #1
instantly in another category that is equally as relevant. What makes it
even more frustrating is that my domain name is my keywords.com

Density is not your problem. You don't have enough text at
your site, period, and very few of your keywords appear on
the page. There is not much spider-food, in other words. Put
your key words in H1 and H2, in bold, in singular, and in
plural.

Some of your terms made no sense to me, not being in the
flag business. Only after i saw the word "memorial" did i
even understand why people would buy flag cases. I guess
people looking for them would know what they are looking
for, but why not give the reader a few clues? May i suggest
that instead of "triangle cases" you go with "triangular
memorial flag cases" for instance. And why not write a
paragraph with a few nice words like soldier, sailor,
veteran, memorial, patriotic, presentation, memento,
tribute, medals, and so forth on your top level page? Surely
these concepts are as important as "splines," which you
highlighted and linked.

Having the good spider food on an about page doesn't help your index
page. Google treats every page as an island, so when building pages
for Google you have to forget what's on the rest of the site, since to
a spider it might as well not exist.

BTW I thought the Cat's copy was excellent, wish I could run off good
copy as well as that. Mine reads flat in comparison. I'm good at
SEOing good copy, but not writing it from scratch generally.
Especially when it comes to lingerie, what does a man know about
women's undies ;-))

That's not the point. The point is that by using the term
"triangular flag cases" you will supply WORDS to the spider
-- and since you were complaining that you have sunk down on
the search term < flag cases > i thought you might

Yes. I am a professional writer. I have written ad copy for
35 years. I operate a successful online shop and i "play"
SEO as a game. I posted about the "game" aspects of SEO a
couple of days ago and you can look my old post up at
google, if you wish. I am in the top 10 for all keywords i
have campaigned on (many dozens) and in the top 5 for all
important google search terms for my shop. In my case, <
love spells > is the most popular term to get people TO the
site, and i is also the term most often searched-on term
WITHIN our 6,000 page site. I am at #1 for that term and
also for < sex magic > a rather competitive term. I am not a
boasting braggart, just a skilled word-smith. So, yes, this
is what i do for a living -- but only for myself, not for
others.

Enter a search for certificate display case, you'll see me at #1,
the text and keyword density on my site should be fine.

You may be right about the "people" -- but what about the
SPIDERS, eh?

If SERPs is the name of the game, then we are working to
please the SPIDERS first and the people second -- 'cause if
no one can find our site because the spiders don't like it,
there won't be any people reading, will there?

Spiders do not see your pictures. They tally and make
databases of words. That's all they "see." And the google
algorithm, being designed by some pretty smart programmers,
doesn't like key words to be spammed (flag cases flag case
flag cases flag case ). And that is why i recommended
writing catchy body copy.

i think will be helpful to spiders, and those should go on

Each page is spidered separately. Each page needs words for
the spider to read. That's just how it works. Don't shoot
the messenger.

Distribute your major keywords on EVERY PAGE and add
selected other words on each separate page so that you build
a big, wide funnel. Notice, for instance, how in the ad copy
i wrote for you, the word "custom" appeared in a different
meaning -- not custom made, but a custom of behaviour. This
is called making a word do double duty to the spiders, who
can't tell how you intend the word, only how it is spelled.
These are good tricks -- either use them or ignore them.
