Default How does this site have a pagerank? - 05-23-2005 , 09:08 AM

Hello,

Any ideas as to why this site:
http://www.mynextsearch.com/

Has a PR4? All of the sub pages are PR0 and it has NO incoming links etc.

Regards,

G.

Google doesn't show all backlinks (or any in this case)

I have a few experimental pages scattered around with PRs that aren't
half bad. I have one hosted on a free ad-supported hosting service with
no unique content, no inbound links, several outbound links, with "LINK
FARM" in the title text and it has a PR4. *shrug*

With all of the PR link exchange schemes, I imagine there's some PR
inflation.

I believe Google only shows backlinks from pages PR4 and up. In this case
it is very much possible to have lots of less valuable (not shown) back
links to get the page's PR up to 4. Even it it shows PR0, it's not an
absolute zero if it's in the Google cache, so a link from PR0 page can
also help (a tiny little bit). Just get tons of them ;-)

Dmitri

Sorry, but that is incorrect. Google will show a lower PR link in a
backlinks check. Google is not showing anything that can be determined how
they choose their sampling of backlinks at this time. It is best not to
worry about what they show.
