Default Help - search engine rookie - 11-06-2004 , 07:58 AM

I have a website that I would like to promote through the search
engines - the site is www.masterclasscoaching.co.uk I am changing the
site shortly as it isn't to clear exactly what we do, but I still need
to know how to promote the site through google yahoo etc - is there
any software programs that I can buy/download etc? should I give it to
a search engine company? There are so many choices I am a bit
confused as to what would be the best option.

Time is a bit of an issue as is the authors internet skills....!!!

This is a genuine request for help so any help or advice is very
gratefully received

Phil

You may want to get the domain name of www.masterclass-coaching.co.uk
if it's still available. Or .net, or whatever. I think we can class
masterclass as one word these days - others may differ though. The
engines will see masterclasscoaching as one long word that has no
relation to master and class and coaching or masterclass and coaching.
Looking at your code you have meta tags you don't need and empty ones
that you do. Also and particularly you have a large css style that
should be externalised as should be the smaller javascript. Well,
that's just the header (!) so I'd agree you could use a little advice!
Others in here will happily advise further, if you want to hire
someone I have, as they say, a window....
