Thanks for the feedback, although I'm not sure what you mean by "changing the font size" |

I didn't realise that PRs applied to specific pages, rather than the domain......nice to know...the homepage for www.sbhonline.com is a PR5. In any case it is a great gateway for us in terms of referrals, even though the SEs aren't detecting it as a worthwhile link. To quote you " know a lot of people seem to concentrate on making a site purely for SE forgetting that its the human being who makes the sale" We want a people oriented site, and we also want people to be able to find our site with the search engines, and finding a comprimise between the two appears to be becoming mutually exclusive. |

The question I have is why does for example, this not show as being a link to our site: http://www.sbhonline.com/PremiumIV.htm (this cost us $500) Its a pr0. Heck for $500 a pop I'll add you some links. or this http://perso.wanadoo.fr/flygolf/booking.htm Thats a pr 2. Google wont' show backlinks of less than a pr4. |

To be honest if you're piddling about spending silly money making links you'd be better putting some effort into Or this http://www.landoflinks.com/cgi-bin/l...ery=premium+iv That's through a script link and no good for SE imo. Also, we for example have the text "st barts shopping" on our site...and as a search term we are nowhere and the following sites show who have no such exact text: http://st-barts.villascaribe.com/Content/723.htm (We both have PR2) http://press-release.designerz.com/?...Management+Xml (link not even active) http://www.dangdang.de/steuerfrei%20...fen_46056.html (contains no search terms at all) http://www.homevhstodvd.com/barthelemy.html (PR0 and we have a PR2) And explain this one....No search terms and not even vaguely relevant! http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2....sTMv5.moZe3q5w Can't see a link but it might be one of those nasty pages which scrapes up other sites. I am at a complete loss....... JimD http://www.premiumiv.com/ My main comments about your site is you have a splash page which I think is pointless - you could just show an english index with a nice link to the fresh version. Is that a flash thing on there too? Why? |
I have no idea what "Complete Destination Management" means and suspect its not a keyphrase to be bothered with so why include it in your flash thing or on the index page? |
Your site reacts really badly to me changing the font size. For people who have trouble reading your site this can be very annoying and will put off people. I don't know much about St Barts but if you're after good quality inward bound links you could create a useful resouce for people looking for info about the place - something that is useful to people planning a visit and that other sites might happily swap links with. |

Destination Management is a travel trade term for someone who specialises in a specific destination, tour operators generally have selectively "set packages" for a limited number of products in a wide number of destinations. We do everything on our little rock. (French West Indies) and do nothing outside it. |
St Barts is hugely well known in the US, as a playground of the rich and famous, up there with the Hamptons, Aspen and St Tropez. |
We are initially trying to grab existing market share of dealing with the caprices of those who would rather let somebody do the organising of their holiday. |
Promoting the place from scratch to the UK market for example, is a daunting task, and we are not big enough for the job. www.wimco.com tried and failed (expensively) |

We do have a couple of competitors, but their sites are even more invisible than ours |
I'm surprised it's not more well known in the UK, recently we've had Kate Moss frollicking about in the sand, Elton John, Keith Richards, Rod Stewart, blah blah blah....It's the kind of place the celebrity gossip hungry would love (I must confess I got a kick out of bumping into Steve Martin in the supermarket) |
Is this a uk forum? There seems to be a distinct lack of sceptics... |
Anyway, we are dumping the flash landing page, with hindsite, we have virtually no content on it, three links on it, one which goes back to our designers site, one which goes no-where because we haven't done the French bit yet, and one that goes into our site...pretty useless really. |

I know these people with invisible sites...and thankfully they will stay invisible. The Celebs are well known and well reported in the US press, without the lower pond-life paparazzi running wild. In fact, the island is so small (eight square miles) that once a paparrazzi is identified, he can't buy a coffee..... |
Our designer has gone awol (he's also a wannabe rock star) |
so site remains as it was. If you could spare some time to have a close look at our site I would be eternally gratefully. |
