Default Googlebot - 06-06-2004 , 08:06 AM

It apears googlebot is hitting the root of my site everyday.
This has been going on for the past 7 or so days.
Would this be due to it following inbound links? or do you think
there is something wrong with my code thats dragging it back in?
IMO the latter is unlikely.

That's the normal behavior if your site is important enough to be
lightly crawled every day, but not important enough to be deep crawled
every day.

Most root pages are higher PR than most leaf pages.

I've also noticed that if I update the main page daily, then Google will
spider it every day. I've got a new domain with a simple holder page and no
page rank and it gets spidered every day. I've got other sites with PR3,
high SERPS and 1500+ hits a day, but since I only update them occassionally,
they get spidered every two-four weeks.
