Yikes! You're right! I'm on page one for a lot of terms where I was nowhere.
One of my sites was "sandboxed" now it's page one for many terms as well.

How old is your site? How long were you sandboxed?

I ask because my site is currently sandboxed and I would like to know when
I could expect to get un-sandboxed.

That is bad news for me since my site has been active since May of last
year. I did not start optimizing it until about 3 months ago, so I'm not
sure if the sandbox start date is the date Google first includes a site in
their database or does the counter start after a large jump in PR or
optimization. Either way, I believe my site is over 10 weeks since either
scenario.
