Default google toolbar intermittent. Why? - 11-12-2003 , 04:25 PM

Pagerank scores suddenly went blank in my tool bar. I have read about
others having the same troubles. I reinstalled. Still nothing. Weeks
have gone by. Now I see that a few sites show a rank on the toolbar.
But most do not. Google itself has no rank.

Any thoughts,

Tor

Yeah..they're smokin' crack at google.
Seriously, this happens so often as to be laughable. One more reason why the
whole PR thing is IMHO, a big to do about nothing. Even though I freak every
time our site slips a notch and rejoice when it goes up.

I think it is quite brilliant. For engines like MSN the searches seem
totally random, as if no priority is given to supposedly more important
sites. Of course you cannot always count on the PR of a site being close to
what it should but most of the time it works pretty well. If they start
tweaking it to counter manipulation it should work for a long time to come.
