Google Toolbar Beta 3 in Controversy. Mossberg Weighs in. I say use it!

The Google Toolbar is stirring controversy from pundits and
advertisers. Today, Walt Mossberg of the WSJ weighed in on the

Most people who run a web site are naturally annoyed that google is altering
their content, and taking their visitors away. I didnt like it when
Microsoft tried it, and I don't like it when google tries the same trick.

By the way while that site has a lot of interesting stuff on it and it's
a large site it is not affiliated with www.google.com in any way, shape,
or form. It is a private person's blog site, a good one, but nothing at
all to do with the google company itself. ~Sam007.

I visited that site above and actually saved it to file for possible
future use (I hope it isn't neccessary to use it) but I have to say
anyone who uses it who is involved in SEO in any way should think twice
before doing so. Having a code like that on your pages might just get
your site(s) sent to oblivion in google, why take a chance? First of all
from what I gather the ads and other sites links only will appear if
someone has the google toolbar 3 on their browser and then only if they
click on the autolinks button on it. How many normal non-seo people (the
majority of google viewers) do you think have the google toolbar at
their browsers let alone the newest version, let alone are going to
click the autolinks button? Not too many so I think this is making a
mountain out of a mohill IMHO. ~Sammy

The google toolbar will be promoted by google and I would think that the
majority of users won't bother to read the terms any more than most people
read the terms when they install any software.

I can't see why a js file would get you in troubke with google, no evidence
at all there Sam.

If you are happy to let google steal your traffic then fine.

So you'd be happy to pay for the bandwidth of google sending traffic
to your site to only steal it again for monetry gain?

If it was another company doing this you'd be outraged.

Do not rely on google sending you traffic whether or not you agree
with what they do. There are no guarantees of free traffic.
