Hi all, I'd like my new site to appear on the main search engines (expecially Google) as soon as possible. In Google I can't see any "add URL" button anymore (since last time I added a site to Google.. years ago), nowadays, is the Open Directory the only possible way to add a URL to Google? If so, some categories (e.g. Computers / Companies / Software Development) in their description say that it will take AGES to get listed, something like 6 months (but, we know, they always tend to become 12 then..). I can understand that there won't be any easy way to get listed in the Open Directory.. but how can I at least get into the Search Engine? I have another site somewhere else (a free provider, with banners and all those annoying things) which is already into Google. While I wouldn't like to host my shareware program webpages there, can I take someway advantage of it as a "trampoline"? E.g. putting on one of those pages the link to my new site main page, and maybe Google will start to explore my new site and add it to its database? Is it possible at all? Anyway, how can I get into Google as soon as possible (Open Directory would be good but not indispensible)? Thanks, Johnny |
