Default google sitemaps - 12-26-2005 , 12:10 AM

I am trying to get googles sitemaps utility to work but I find it very
puzzling. The input options include url nodes, urllist nodes, and
directory nodes.

I want the script to follow urls and make a map with the urls it finds
starting with the home page. Which input option do I use ?

url node seems to mean include the urls I want in the config file.
urllist seems to mean include the urls I want in a separate text file.

directory nodes means to walk the file system

Is there no way to 'walk' the urls ?

Are there clear-cut instructions how to use Googlemaps? Anywhere? Not
that I know of.

Here you are Bill - it quite easy really.

Produce sitemap.xml with this:
http://www.auditmypc.com/free-sitemap-generator.asp

Upload xml to root directory.

Goto:
https://www.google.com/webmasters/si...id=uk-et-pbtls

Login or get new account.

Add sitemap to account.

That's it.

Happy New Year to all.

In this sitemap generator, if I put *.jpg in the exclude filter it gives
me a syntax error. I tried wild card and regex and I tried "*.jpg" and
"|*.jpg|" (with the quotes) and |.*jpg| but I get the same syntax error.
What am I missing ?

This looks useful, I'll give it a go. Ta Vance.

I've already done the other signup bits so I get stats of a kind.

This will be released in a few days. (I'll let it have one last go through
beta testers first.)
