Hi Guys I've been keeping an eye on the new Google servers, and whilst they haven't really stopped shuffling, one thing to note is that in the last 1/2 hour the backward links have changed. Cannot see any PR movement but the last time I noticed a significant shift in links, "Austin" happened 4 days later. Could we be winding up for the next dance this weekend? -- Matt How would you say the backward links have changed? Mine have gone up. |

Forgive my ignorance, but how do you check your backward links? Thanks "Sam" <. OK, I found a utility to check for backlinks. I see the backlinks on is only 3 for my top search phrase. Is this considered acceptable? If not, what is the best way to increase this? We are currently ranked very good at position #3 (last week we were going back and forth between #1 and #3) Thanks . I've got quite a few sites some have gone up some have gone down, I've noticed that if you check your sites backward links (link:http://www.yoururl.com in Googles search box ) from day to day they generally stay constant through the month except for just before a re-index. |

Yes, my backlinks are going up and down every hour today, not that I check them obsessively every half hour or so!! |

I'm not seeing anything quite so extreme, but as I said backward links don't generally move about that much- but today is different. I maybe well of base but we'll know for sure if I'm right in 3-4 days. |
